A Saturday workshop with Addrene Rizen and Patti Thorne

Scale:  1:12

No holiday is complete without a turkey!

Let us transport you back to Grandma’s kitchen where you will prepare and make a traditional holiday dinner of roast turkey with stuffing, potatoes, peas and carrots; and don’t forget the pumpkin pie. You will prepare these items using polymer clay and resin. You will receive a “new set of pots and pans” that can be finished in your choice of paint colours (silver tone with copper bottom or other 1950’s colours – pink, turquoise or yellow).

You will also get to make a replica of Grandma’s 1950’s stove to cook the holiday meal on. In this part of the workshop, you will learn different techniques on how to make miniatures using mat board, including an element on using and designing with a Cricut cutting machine. You will be guided through how to assemble the stove in class. Although you may not completely finish on-site, you will receive the instructions on how to apply the appropriate finishes at home.

Gingerbread House
A Saturday workshop with Joan Merriam

Scale:  1:12

Price:  $95

Spend the day making no calorie candies – bulls eyes, candy corn, candy canes, caramels, chews, chocolates, fruit slices, humbugs, allsorts, wafers, ribbon candy and starlight mints.

Using Fimo clay, you will form the candies and then decide whether to decorate a gingerbread house or to fill jars and a candy dish (provided).

Scale will be discussed as there are 5 different sizes of the house to be built, so candies can be adjusted accordingly.

Participants will also receive jewellery findings to make earrings for pierced ears. The house can become jewellery, an ornament for the Christmas tree, or placed in a scene. You decide!

All skill levels are welcome.
